Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Allegro Review Export (the "Extension", "we", "our", or "us") handles information when you use the Extension.
Allegro Review Export is a browser extension designed to help users collect review information displayed on Allegro pages and export that information into a local file for the user's own use.
1. Scope of This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy applies only to the Allegro Review Export browser extension and its related functionality. It does not govern Allegro, your browser provider, or any other third-party website, application, or service.
2. Information the Extension Handles
2.1 Allegro page and review information
When you actively use the Extension on an Allegro page, the Extension may read information that is visible or available on that page in order to perform the requested export. Depending on the page and the available review fields, this may include:
- review text and review titles;
- star ratings or other review scores;
- review dates;
- publicly displayed reviewer names, nicknames, or usernames;
- product names, item identifiers, product URLs, or related product information;
- seller or listing information associated with the reviewed product;
- other review-related fields visibly presented by Allegro and selected for export.
This information is processed only to provide the review-export functionality requested by the user.
2.2 Current tab information
The Extension may access limited information about the active browser tab, such as the page URL and tab state, to determine whether the current page is supported and to perform the export operation.
2.3 Extension settings and preferences
The Extension may store limited configuration data locally in browser storage, such as export preferences, selected fields, interface settings, or other settings necessary to provide a consistent user experience.
3. Information We Do Not Collect
The Extension is not designed to collect or transmit the following information to us:
- passwords or authentication credentials;
- payment card or banking information;
- private messages or email content;
- precise location information;
- health information;
- complete browsing history unrelated to the Extension's functionality;
- exported review files or the contents of those files.
4. How Information Is Used
Information accessed by the Extension is used only as necessary to provide its single purpose: helping the user extract and export review information from supported Allegro pages.
The Extension may use page information to:
- identify review records and related product information;
- structure the information into rows and columns;
- prepare the requested export file;
- save the export file to the user's device;
- remember local settings and preferences; and
- maintain the basic operation and reliability of the Extension.
5. Local Processing and Exported Files
Review data obtained from Allegro pages is processed within the user's browser for the purpose of generating the requested export. The resulting export file is saved to the user's device through normal browser download functionality.
We do not receive or retain a copy of the review data contained in the user's export file.
6. Permissions and Why They May Be Needed
The exact permissions used by a particular version of the Extension may vary as functionality is updated. Permissions are used only when necessary to provide the Extension's disclosed functionality.
| Permission / Access | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Access to supported Allegro pages | To read review and product information that the user chooses to export. |
| Active tab / tab information | To identify the current supported page and perform the export requested by the user. |
| Storage | To save local preferences, settings, and extension state. |
| Downloads, where applicable | To create or save the user-requested export file to the user's device. |
The presence of a browser permission does not mean that all information technically accessible through that permission is collected. The Extension is intended to access only information required for its user-facing export functionality.
7. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, trade, or disclose user data to advertising networks, data brokers, information resellers, or other third parties for marketing or profiling purposes.
We may disclose information only when required by applicable law or when necessary to protect the security, integrity, or legal rights of the Extension, its users, or others. Because the Extension is designed to process exported review data locally, we generally do not possess the contents of users' exported review files.
8. Advertising, Tracking, and Profiling
The Extension does not use information obtained from Allegro pages or browser activity for personalized advertising, retargeting, interest-based advertising, creditworthiness decisions, or unrelated user profiling.
The Extension does not sell browsing activity or page content to third parties.
9. Data Retention
Allegro review data used to generate an export is not intentionally retained by us on a remote server. Locally stored Extension settings may remain in browser storage until they are changed, cleared, or the Extension is removed, subject to the behavior of the user's browser.
Exported files remain under the user's control and are retained on the user's device until the user deletes or moves them.
10. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to limit access to the minimum information necessary for the Extension's functionality. The Extension is designed to avoid unnecessary transmission of review data to external servers.
No software or storage system can guarantee absolute security. Users should protect their browser profile, device, and exported files using appropriate security measures.
11. User Choices and Control
Users control when Allegro Review Export is used. The Extension accesses supported page information to perform export functionality when the user invokes or interacts with the Extension.
Users may stop the Extension from operating by disabling or uninstalling it through their browser's extension management page. Users may also delete exported files directly from their devices and may clear locally stored Extension settings through browser mechanisms.
12. Third-Party Websites and Allegro
The Extension interacts with pages provided by Allegro. Allegro is a third-party service and operates under its own terms, privacy policies, and data practices. We do not control Allegro's collection, use, retention, or disclosure of information.
Users are responsible for using exported information in accordance with applicable laws, contractual obligations, platform rules, and the rights of other individuals.
13. Children's Privacy
The Extension is not directed to children under the age required by applicable law to provide independent consent to data processing. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the Extension.
14. International Users
Users may access the Extension from different countries and regions. Because the Extension is designed to process review-export data locally, the primary processing of exported page information occurs on the user's device. Users are responsible for complying with laws applicable to their own use of exported information.
15. Chrome Web Store Limited Use Disclosure
Our use of information accessed through browser permissions is limited to providing or improving the Extension's disclosed, user-facing review export functionality. We do not use or transfer such information for unrelated advertising, data brokerage, creditworthiness determinations, or other prohibited purposes.
The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
16. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the Extension's functionality, permissions, data practices, or applicable requirements change. The revised version will be posted with an updated "Last Updated" date.
If a change materially affects how user data is handled, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent when required by applicable law or platform policy.
17. Contact Us
